Take Action! - Checklist
What can we do to fight this thing?
- Contact the City Council
Request that they schedule an emergency meeting to issue a stop work order in light of new information that has been revealed. Click here for more information. - Show up at City Meetings
And ask your neighbors to attend, too. PLEASE spread the word, ATTEND the hearings, and voice your opinion! - Sign the First Petition
This was the one that started our cause. It is a generic petition to lawmakers and elected officials to do what they can to uphold the decisions made by our city council and planning commission to deny the cell tower project, so that existing infrastructure can be utlized instead.
You can add your signature here. - View the Second Petition
This was an additional petition that was presented to the City Council, but their legal advisor indiciated that they should not move on it. We are no longer collecting signatures on this one. - Write the Press
Send a letter to the editors of our local newspapers (Lovely County Citizen / Carroll County News). Call the radio stations. Let them know that we support our elected officials' decision to reject this project, and are not happy at the applicant's attempt to strong-arm this cell tower project at the gateway to our Historic District. - Spread the Word
Talk to your friends, neighbors, and customers about what is happening. Post it to Facebook. Leave a comment for your Myspace friends. Make a video for YouTube. Post it on your website. We have found that a number of locals believe that the proposal was already defeated and is no longer an issue. Explain the FACTS to them, as well as the importance of acting NOW to prevent this cell tower project from happening. You can send them to this website for more detailed information. - Print a Flyer
Post it in your place of business. Pass it out to your neighbors. Hand it out to tourists and keep a few copies near the cash register. Visitors to our town are generally just as sensitive to our city's preservational efforts as we are. Here are three available PDF flyers, with more on the way:

HDC Meeting Flyer
Handout Flyer (no Tearoff Tabs)
Hanging Flyer (with Tearoff Tabs)
